Pickering man held with drugs in central Oshawa

A Pickering resident is facing charges after being arrested with more than $12,000 in cash and drugs near Memorial Park in central Oshawa.

On Wednesday, October 14, officers from the Central East Division Community Response Team (CRT) were in Memorial Park investigating issues of drug use and trafficking. They observed a male approach and talk to several people in the area. At one point, officers observed him conduct a drug transaction and arrested him. Officers located approximately $12,700 in cash and drugs (Fentanyl) as well as weigh scales and a pocket knife, said a police statement.

Omar McGregor, age 27, of Scenic Lane Drive in Pickering has been charged with Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He was held for a bail hearing.
