Plastic gun robbery + Parking rage arrest

Investigators are trying to identify a lone male who robbed an Ajax restaurant using a plastic handgun.

On Saturday at 9:45 am, a man, with his face covered, entered the Burger King location on Mackenzie Avenue in Ajax. He was brandishing what appeared to be a plastic handgun. In order to de-escalate the situation, employees handed over a small quantity of cash. The suspect then fled the store and was last seen running toward Monarch Avenue. A K-9 team attended and conducted a track, however no arrests were made.

The suspect is described as male, about 5′ tall and 130 lbs., with a slim build, deep voice, wearing a black hoody, big sunglasses and carrying a black zippered folder-style bag.

Man held for assault after parking dispute

An argument in an Oshawa parking lot led to a male getting slashed with a knife.

On Friday, July 19  at 2:30 pm, a male pulled his car behind another vehicle, blocking it in at the Midtown Mall on John Street West. The two drivers engaged in a verbal argument over the parked vehicles. The accused pulled a knife and slashed the victim, causing a minor wound. The victim called police and the accused left the area on foot.

Police arrived on the scene and were able to locate the accused in the vicinity. He was placed under arrest without incident. A short time later, the knife, which had been discarded by the accused, was located by officers.

Denva Lilly, age 34 of Weldrick Crescent in Clarington, is charged with: Assault with a Weapon; Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Safety and Breach of Peace Bond x2.

He was released on a Promise to Appear.
