Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday announced that it is cancelling the annual Polar Plunge as a precaution against the spread of Covid-19.
“Due to an abundance of caution surrounding ongoing concerns over Covid-19, we are cancelling the Polar Plunge event scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex,” said a DRPS tweet.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” it added.
Dunbarton Indoor Pool
Meanwhile,unrelated to Covid-19, Pickering has announced the closure of Dunbarton Indoor Pool.
“The Dunbarton Indoor Pool will be closed during March Break, said a city announcement.
Duration: Monday, March 16 to Sunday, March 22.
All programs and public swim will be cancelled. The pool will re-open on Monday, March 23, it said.
