Police ask for public help after mystery shots

Durham Police has asked for public assistance in an investigation into shots being fired on Friday evening in Pickering.

On February 21 at about 9 pm, members of West Division were called to the area of Liverpool Road and Gull Crossings in Pickering for reports of shots fired. Officers responded to the area and were able to confirm that shots were fired after finding shell casings nearby. There was also damage to a vehicle and a residence in the vicinity, said a police media release.

There have been no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

Police searched the area with the assistance of K-9 with negative results.

There is no suspect or vehicle descriptors at this time and investigators are looking for the public’s help with any information regarding this shooting. If you have surveillance video in this area, please contact our investigators.
