Police looking for second suspect in Ajax stabbing

Durham Police have arrested a 20-year-old in connection to a stabbing in an Ajax park Wednesday night.

On August 14 at 10:30 pm, members of West Division responded to the area of Lord Durham Park in Ajax after reports of a stabbing. The victim was involved in an altercation with the suspect and another male. The victim was stabbed numerous times and suffered serious injuries. The victim made his way to a nearby residence and called 911.

He was taken to a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. The two suspects fled on foot. Officers searched the area with negative results.

Investigators arrested one of the suspects on Thursday and continue to search for the second male suspect.

Christopher Leeson, age 20, of Hurley Road in Ajax, is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Possession of Weapons Dangerous and Possession of Schedule I Substance (cocaine).

He was held for a bail hearing.

This investigation is ongoing and investigators are looking for the second suspect.
