Police look for witnesses in Oshawa shooting

Durham police investigators are looking for the public’s assistance to identify two suspects in a shooting incident on Saturday night in Oshawa.

On July 11 at about 11:20 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a call on Hill Rise Court near Simcoe Street North and Britannia Avenue East in Oshawa for a shooting. The victim was in a residential neighbourhood when he became involved in a verbal altercation with two unknown males who were associated to a vehicle, police said in a media statement.

The passenger exited the vehicle and shot towards the victim. The bullet missed the victim and he ran to a nearby residence. The suspects entered their vehicle and drove off. There were no injuries to the male, police said.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver/grey hatchback.

Suspect #1 who was driving the vehicle is described as male, tanned complexion, mid-20s, 6′ tall, slim build.

Suspect #2 is described as male, white, 5’6″ mid-20s, brown hair. He wore a dark hooded sweater. He was armed with a gun.

Investigators are asking citizens that reside in the area that may have video surveillance of anything suspicious on the time indicated above to contact them.
