Power outage in parts of Pickering on Saturday

Pickering has announced that parts of the city will have no power on Saturday November 23 for most of the day.

“Elexicon Energy will be completing important maintenance and construction work this coming Saturday in Pickering, and as a result, approximately 1,000 residents will be without power from approximately 7 am to 5 pm,” said a city news release.

In the event of inclement weather, the outage will be rescheduled for Sunday November 24 from 7 am to 5 pm. If the weather is inclement again, it will be residents will be notified, said an Elexicon notice.

Affected streets include:

  1. Brookshire Square,
  2. Eagleview Drive,
  3. Echo Point Court,
  4. Gablehurst Crescent,
  5. Glenanna Road,
  6. Heathside Crescent,
  7. Huntsmill Drive,
  8. Kelvinway Lane,
  9. Longbow Drive,
  10. Mountcastle Crescent,
  11. Rambleberry Avenue,
  12. Redbird Crescent and
  13. Silver Spruce Drive

Residents are asked to make arrangements if you:

  • Are on life support or
    Have a security company monitoring your residence/business or
  • Have computer equipment
  • Have smoke and carbon monoxide alarms electrically connected to your home’s power supply without battery back-ups or
  • Have an electric garage door opener
