Project Boxter bags four, $75,000 in drugs, assets

A Durham Police investigation into street level drugs in Ajax has led to four arrests, search warrants in three municipalities and the seizure of over $75,000 in drugs and property.

Project Boxster began in June 2020 with the West Division – Community Response Team (CRT), focusing on street-level drug transactions in Ajax. The investigation lead to the identification of other parties and addresses in both Oshawa and Toronto, said a police statement.

Last Tuesday, three search warrants were executed simultaneously at residences in Ajax, Oshawa and Toronto by the West Division CRT, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Gang and Gun Enforcement Unit.

In total, four people were arrested and they are facing a combined 17 charges. Officers seized about $49,000 in crack cocaine, cocaine and Fentanyl. They also seized, as offence-related property, a 2009 Grey Infiniti coupe and a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta.
