RCAF flybys for Canada Day + Road closures

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will conduct flybys for several Canada Day celebrations across the nation on July 1, 2019.

These will be carried out by aircraft from RCAF Wings throughout Canada, and will be done at various times throughout the day.

Flybys will take place in the following Ontario communities:

  • Belleville (CH-146 Griffon),
  • Brighton (CC-130J Hercules ),
  • Cornwall (CC-130H Hercules),
  • Cobourg (CC-130H Hercules),
  • Lancaster (CC-130H Hercules),
  • Ottawa (Snowbirds and CF-18 Hornet Demo Jet), and
  • Wellington (CC-130J Hercules).

RCAF flybys, requested by organizers of special events, are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times. Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements.

Roads closed surrounding of Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex

The following roads surrounding Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville will be closed for Canada Day celebrations and fireworks:

From 9 a.m. on July 1 to midnight on July 2 Brookhill Boulevard east of Green Road
From 9 a.m. on July 1 to midnight on July 2 Clarington Boulevard north of Stevens Road
From 4 to 11 p.m. on July 1 Stevens Road between Clarington Boulevard and Bowmanville Avenue.
Uptown Avenue will have limited access throughout the event.
