RCAF searching for missing airplane

Trenton: Members of the Royal Canadian Air Force are searching for a Beechcraft Bonanza airplane that was reported overdue at 11:30 p.m. on July 29.

The plane, with one person on board, was traveling from Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Danbury, Connecticut.

On July 30, Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton launched a CC-130H Hercules search and rescue plane from 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron, 8 Wing Trenton, Ont. and a CH-146 Griffon helicopter from 439 Combat Support Squadron, 3 Wing Bagotville, Qué. to conduct a search.

A Griffon helicopter from 424 Squadron and a CP-140 Aurora Long Range Patrol aircraft from 14 Wing Greenwood, N.S. have also joined the search efforts.

RCAF search and rescue crews are currently searching an area north of the town of Senneterre, Qué., where the plane was last tracked on radar.
