Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said they were investigating a stabbing incident on Salisbury Street in Oshawa yesterday.
A 40-year old male was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police have taken a 32-year old male in custody.
They said it was not a random incident.
