PC Wright, K9 Hawk and Bowmanville officers teamed up to track and locate a suicidal male who fled into a large wooded area, the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said yesterday.
The DRPS Canine Unit described the conditions as ‘difficult’ as the officers lost sight of the man.
The hero of the day was K9 Hawk who led the officers to the male.
The suicidal man was taken to hospital for evaluation.
“After an extensive search in difficult conditions, K9 Hawk safely located the male. He was transported to hospital for mental health assistance,” said a DRPS Canine Unit tweet yesterday evening.
