Man got away from police, but not from K9 Six

A male suspect was apprehended by the K-9 Unit after he fled from police on Sunday night in Oshawa, police said.

On September 21 at about 10 pm, members of Central East Division were called to the area of Simcoe Street and Rossland Road for an armed person call. Officers received information that there was a male on foot armed with a gun in that area, said a police statement.

Police quickly responded and a member of the K-9 Unit located the suspect. The suspect fled on foot but was quickly caught by Police Service Dog Six. The suspect suffered minor injuries from a dog bite and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police found a starter’s pistol and approximately $2,000 worth of cannabis.

Lucais Dayton, age 18, of No Fixed Address, was charged with: Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling and Fail to Comply. He was held for a bail hearing.
