Ottawa: Ontario’s government is investing up to $26 million in infrastructure projects to ensure that Ontario’s culture and tourism attractions remain world-class destinations.
Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, was at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa yesterday to announce this investment for tourism and culture organizations, which will enable them to begin work on much-needed capital projects. These include repairs and replacements of roofs, windows, parking lots and septic systems, as well as restoration projects and work that needs to be done throughout the year.
The province’s culture and tourism attractions promote tourism, economic growth and job creation — and offer a wide range of educational, recreational, cultural and entertainment programs. This investment will ensure that they continue to attract visitors and promote tourism, said a statement.
“Our culture and tourism attractions showcase that Ontario offers the world in one province,” said Minister MacLeod. “These icons contribute significantly to our economy and this investment will give them the support they need to shine and deliver the excellent visitor experiences they are known for.”
