Tow-truck war? Two trucks set on fire in Ajax

Durham police are looking for information to identify suspect(s) after two separate tow-truck fires over the weekend in Ajax.

On Sunday, May 10, at about 6:00 am, members of West Division responded to a vehicle fire near a residence at Rossland Road and Audley Road in Ajax. Officers arrived to find a black GMC tow-truck fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by Ajax Fire and Emergency Services, police said.

On Monday, May 11, at around 6:15 am., officers responded to the area of Rossland Road and Church Street in Ajax for a white GMC tow-truck on fire. The vehicle was fully engulfed but quickly extinguished by Ajax Fire and Emergency Services, they added.

There were no reported injuries in both incidents and investigators are treating both incidents as arson.

The only descriptors at this time of the suspects in both cases are male.
