Scugog moves to limit crowds at Port Perry pier

On Monday, July 13, the Township of Scugog was made aware of a serious overcrowding issue at the Port Perry Pier.

The Scugog Emergency Control Group met to address the issue. Working in collaboration with the Port Perry Marina, itannounced that the following actions will be taken:

  • By-law will patrol the area this weekend and will work with DRPS on specific Covid-19 related complaints
  • Signage stating No Fishing Beyond this Point / Access for Boaters Only will be placed in key areas along the pier near the dock slips
  • No fishing signs will be placed at the Port Perry and Caesarea Boat Launches
  • No littering signs will be placed along the pier

This initial action will be monitored for compliance and adjustments to public access along the pier may be updated further.
