Two charged, $43,000 haul in drugs case

An investigation into street level drugs in Ajax has led to two arrests, and a search warrant has resulted in the seizure of over $43,000 in drugs and cash.

Investigators from the West Division Community Response Unit began an investigation, focusing on street-level drug transactions in Ajax. The investigation lead to the identification of an address in Ajax. On Saturday, November 21, 2020, a search warrant was executed on Clark Road in Ajax, said a police statement.

Two people are facing charges and officers seized about $35,000 in crack cocaine, cocaine, fentanyl and approximately $8,000 in Canadian currency.

Tyler Palneau, age 26 and Shannon Sauve, age 29, both of Clark Road in Ajax are charged with: Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x3. PalneauU was also charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance.

They were both held for bail hearings.
