Durham Health yesterday posted 24 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 3,036 since the count began on February 29. Recoveries tally 2,657, up by 31.
- Eight new cases were reported in Ajax
- Six each in Oshawa and Whitby
- Four in Pickering, and
- One in Clarington
- One pending case has been resolved
Nine cases are hospitalized with six in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 188 people in home isolation.
One new covid-related death was announced for October 15 in Durham. Previous death was announced on July 9.
Deaths so far total 182, of which 153 were in long term care homes (LTCH).
Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 884 in Ajax, followed by 866 in Pickering and 498 in Oshawa.
Death Toll: No new death
Of the 89 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 38 reported deaths in Ajax, 32 were in LTCH
Four deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH
Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
21 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Scugog
No deaths have been reported in Brock
