Two rushed to hospital after serious Pickering collision

A nine-year-old boy and a 28-year-old Pickering man were injured following a motor vehicle collision in Pickering on Saturday evening, Durham police said.

On June 13 at about 7:55 pm, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Brock Road north of Pickering Parkway in the City of Pickering.

Witnesses report a northbound BMW coupe collided with a southbound white Toyota 4-Runner on Brock Road. The 4-Runner was attempting to turn left into a plaza on the east side of Brock Road north of Pickering Parkway at the time of the collision, police said.

The 28-year-old male driver of the BMW suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a Toronto hospital. The nine-year-old occupant was also rushed to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries. Both are in stable condition.

There were four occupants in the 4-Runner at the time of the collision. They were all transported to a local hospital where they were treated for their injuries and later released.

The road was closed for several hours while members of the Collision Investigation Unit examined the collision scene and captured evidence. Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.
