What’s closed during civic holiday in Whitby

The Town of Whitby has announced holiday service changes.

Town Hall and Garden Street Branch in-person and phone services will close at 4:30 pm on Friday, July 30 and will reopen at 8:30 am on Tuesday, August 3. Should you need to reach the Operations team after-hours during the holiday period, please call 905.434.2034.

Indoor Recreation Facilities: The Civic Recreation Complex Health Club will be closed on Sunday, August 1 and Monday, August 2. The Anne Ottenbrite Pool located at Iroquois Park Sports Centre and the Town’s arenas will also be closed on Monday, August 2. Once open, residents can book a swim or workout up to five days in advance at whitby.ca/getactive.

Parks, Trails, Splash Pads, and Outdoor Recreation Facilities: The town’s splash pads, parks, trails and many other outdoor recreation facilities are open. For a complete list of outdoor amenities available to enjoy this holiday, visit whitby.ca/Covid.

Whitby Public Library: All Whitby Library locations will be closed on Monday, August 2. The Brooklin Branch reopens Tuesday, August 3 and Rossland will reopen Tuesday, August 10.  Visit WhitbyLibrary.ca for access to digital content and program information 24/7.

Waste Collection: There is no waste collection service on Monday, August 2. Starting Monday, August 2 garbage and green bin collection has been moved forward one day after your regular pick up day.
