Winter weather forces indefinite Ajax Council Hall closure

Ajax Town Hall has experienced an unexpected cold weather-related maintenance issue that caused damage to the council chambers. As a result, the council chambers will be temporarily closed for the foreseeable future, said a town statement.

The regularly scheduled Ajax Council meeting on Monday, March 23, has been relocated to the River Plate Room at Ajax Town Hall (65 Harwood Avenue South). Due to the location change, participation will be in‑person only.

The statement said town staff are actively exploring solutions to enable remote participation and livestreaming for upcoming council, general government committee (GGC) and community affairs and planning committee (CAP) meetings and will provide an update once available.
