Woman buys Range Rover with fake identification

Durham police said a 19-year-old female is facing charges after she purchased an expensive vehicle using fraudulent identification.

On Friday, September 4 at about 11:30 am, the female suspect visited the Land Rover Lakeridge dealership on Achilles Road in Ajax and used fraudulent identification to finance a 2019 Range Rover Velar, valued at over $85,000. Members of the Financial Crimes Unit were contacted and it was determined that the transaction was fraudulent. The suspect was arrested at the dealership on Saturday, September 5, when she went to pick up the vehicle, said a police statement.

Lubnan Godarzi of Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls, has been charged with: Fraud Under $5,000; Personation to Obtain Property Interest; Make False Statement to Procure Loan; Procure to be Made, Possess, Transfer, Sell Identity Document of Another; Unlawfully Sell or Possess Counterfeit Mark and Obtain/Possess Identity Info with Inference a Fraudulent Offence.

She was released on an undertaking.
