Woman motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

Durham police yesterday said a 40-year-old female was seriously injured after being involved in a motor vehicle collision on Sunday evening in Pickering.

On June 7 at about 7:05 pm, members of West Division were called to the scene for a report of a motorcycle that had collided with a car. A Kawasaki motorcycle was eastbound on Taunton Road at Brock Road in Pickering, when a Pontiac G5 made a left turn into the path of the motorcycle. Road conditions at the time were reported to be clear and dry and occurred during daylight hours, the police said.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Pontiac G5 was uninjured and remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, it added.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
