Works start on CPR underpass at Simcoe Street

The Regional Municipality of Durham has awarded the contract for the rehabilitation of the Simcoe Street CPR Underpass located some 460 metres south of Coates Road in the City of Oshawa.

The work will consist of concrete repair to the walls and bridge structure, removal of steel beam guide rail and construction of a new concrete barrier, said a statement.

Construction Schedule: The region’s contractor Bob Hendricksen Construction Ltd., started the work the week of August 4 and is expected to complete the project by November.

Traffic Restrictions: One lane in each direction will be maintained throughout the project. Additional lane restrictions may be required to complete the work.
