The Bay Ridges Community Facebook group comprising 3,000+ members, is producing a printed calendar, showcasing the diversity of the community, its wildlife and neighbourhoods.
“The goal is to raise funds for St. Paul’s on the Hill Foodbank. We have been in touch with the food bank and they have given their blessing,” said Emma Roberts, founding member.
“We recently ran a call for submissions, inviting group members to share their original photography. The steering committee is currently choosing a selection of these images which will be used to populate the calendar. We are also including the various festivals and holidays celebrated by the many cultures our neighbours belong to,” said Roberts.
Calendars can be pre-ordered online.
The YOUR PICKERING calendar is also open for sponsorship, the deadline for which is tomorrow August 15th.
“We have sold out Platinum, but still have Bronze, Silver and Gold sponsorship opportunities available. With Bronze packages starting at $25, this is a wonderful opportunity to participate in a fun project that will bring local exposure to businesses in our community and support a great cause!” said Roberts.
