125-townhouse community planned on Church Street

The Town of Ajax said it is in receipt of development applications, submitted by GHD on behalf of Daste Investments Ltd., proposing a community of 125 townhouses.

The residential subdivision will consist of single detached dwellings, park and environmental protection blocks, public road extensions/widenings, and a future development block which will consist of block, back-to-back and double front townhouse dwellings within a common elements condominium.

Together, a total of 125 dwellings are proposed. The submission of a site plan application and draft plan of condominium application will also be required to facilitate the proposed development of the future development block, the town said.

It said the purpose of the Official Plan Amendment is to re-designate portions of the subject lands to the Medium Density Residential designation to permit an increase in density and to permit additional uses. The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the lands to site-specific Residential Zones to permit different residential dwellings and set site-specific development standards to facilitate the proposed development. The purpose of the Draft Plan of Subdivision is to establish the necessary lots, blocks, and public right-of-ways to facilitate the proposed development.

A statutory public meeting will be held electronically on May 5.
