20-year old man arrives home with stab wounds

An 18-year-old male is facing charges after a 20-year-old male was stabbed in Whitby, Durham police said yesterday.

On Friday, July 17 at about 6:35 pm, the victim returned to his home in Whitby with stab wounds. Police and ambulance were called to assist. Investigators determined the stabbing occurred during an altercation in the Glen Hill Drive and Nichol Avenue area of Whitby. A male suspect was arrested a short time later. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Jonathan Karvelas of Oshawa, is charged with Aggravated Assault; Assault with a Weapon; Possess Weapon Dangerous and Utter Threat. He was held for a bail hearing.
