25-year old woman in hospital after stabbing

A 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital after being stabbed in Oshawa on Tuesday.

On May 18, at approximately 7:25 pm, members from Central East Division were called to the area of Centre Street North and Brock Street West for a stabbing. An altercation had ensued between the victim and suspect and the victim was subsequently stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victim has since been released, police said.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The victim and suspect are known to each other.

Kelly Aldred, age 51, of Oshawa is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Assault with a Weapon; Possession of Weapons Dangerous to the Public; Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. She was held for a bail hearing.
