263 active covid cases in Durham, 13 in ICU

Durham Health yesterday posted 34 new Covid-19 cases for February 12, taking the region’s tally to 11,267 since the count began on February 29.

One new non-LTC (long term care) death was reported in Oshawa. Durham’s overall death toll stands at 291 with 216 of them occurring in LTCs. There have been 5 covid deaths in February, 45 in January, 53 in December and 5 in November.

There were:

  • 12 new cases in Pickering
  • 11 in Ajax
  • 8 in Oshawa, and
  • 3 in Clarington

Recoveries stand at 10,713, up by 44. There are 263 active covid cases.

Twenty cases are hospitalized with 13 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 243 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 3,275 in Ajax.

Death Toll: Total – 291              LTCH – 216

Of the 99 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 49 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTCH
Forty-five deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTCH
Of the 47 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTCH
Twelve deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
Fifteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 13 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Brock
