One death, 33 new covid cases, 17 recoveries

Durham Health yesterday posted 33 new Covid-19 cases, bringing its total to 2,515 since the count began on February 29. Recoveries total 2,187, up by 17.

One extra case of yesterday has been adjusted with area-wise day-to0day comparison showing 32 new cases.

  • Eleven new cases were reported in Oshawa
  • Ten in Ajax
  • Six in Whitby
  • Three in Pickering, and
  • Two in Clarington

One new covid-related death has been announced for October 15 in Durham. Previous death was announced on July 9.

Six cases are hospitalized with two in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 140 people in home isolation.

Deaths so far total 182, of which 153 were in long term care homes (LTCH).

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 750 in Pickering followed by 714 in Ajax and 395 in Oshawa.

Death Toll: One new death in Ajax

Of the 89 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 38 reported deaths in Ajax, 32 were in LTCH
Four deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH
Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
21 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Scugog
No deaths have been reported in Brock
