Durham Health yesterday posted 23 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 2,664 since the count began on February 29. Two cases under investigation have been resolved.
Recoveries tally 2,318, up by 35.
- 12 new cases were reported in Ajax
- Four each in Pickering and Whitby
- Two in Oshawa, and
- One in Uxbridge
Eight cases are hospitalized with four in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 156 people in home isolation.
One new covid-related death was announced for October 15 in Durham. Previous death was announced on July 9.
Deaths so far total 182, of which 153 were in long term care homes (LTCH).
Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 777 in Pickering followed by 763 in Ajax and 419 in Oshawa.
Death Toll: No new death
Of the 89 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 38 reported deaths in Ajax, 32 were in LTCH
Four deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH]
Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH
Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
21 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Scugog
No deaths have been reported in Brock
