During the month of April, the city issued 132 building permits for a total of $128.5 million in construction value. Of that total, $124.4 million in Residential construction, $1.8 million in Governmental/Institutional, $1.7 million in Commercial, and $565,300 in Industrial construction (farm building) was issued.

Year-to-date categories of Commercial, Governmental and Total construction values, as well as, the number of Accessory Units, Semis, Apartments and Total Residential Units are all ahead of last year, the statement said.

This is ensuring that we continue to move forward major developments in our city and as a result, we achieved three building permit records in April,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter.
