5-year old approached by man in this car

Police are looking to identify a suspicious male and vehicle after a five-year-old male was approached on Saturday afternoon in Whitby.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, at approximately 1:55 p.m., a five-year-old male was riding his scooter in the area of Chatsworth Crescent and Glen Dhu Drive, in Whitby, when a silver or beige 4-door sedan stopped and the male driver said something to the young boy. A parent of the boy was nearby and observed the vehicle driving away.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or may have witnessed anything suspicious. If you have security surveillance of the area or dash-cam video of this vehicle, investigators are urging you to contact them.

The suspect is described as: male, described as South-East Asian, dark hair and was wearing a black jacket.

The suspect vehicle is described as: a beige or grey, 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla.
