57-year old passenger serious as car flips over

A 34-year-old Whitby male was arrested following a single motor-vehicle collision in Oshawa, said Durham Police.

On Friday, November 22 at 4:14 pm officers from Central East Division were called to a serious motor-vehicle collision. A white pickup truck travelling southbound on Park Road North near Muriel Avenue reportedly lost control, crossed into the northbound lane and continued off the roadway. The vehicle drove through a fence and onto the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club property where it flipped over, said a media release.

As a result, a 57-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital in serious but stable condition, it added.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.

A 34-year-old male from Whitby has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance – Cause Bodily Harm, said police.
