67-year old pedestrian dies of collision injuries

A 67-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead after a single motor vehicle collision on Wednesday evening in Uxbridge, police said.

On October 30 at 7:05 pm, members from North Division were called to Brock Street West and Balsam Street North in Uxbridge on reports of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.

A 2004 grey Pontiac Sunfire, being operated by a 60-year-old male was travelling westbound on Brock Street and struck a pedestrian. The driver stopped his vehicle following the collision, turned around and provided assistance to the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Pontiac Sunfire was co-operative with police.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit were called and the roadway was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.
