26-year old dies in Ajax head-on crash, 4 hurt

A 26-year-old Ajax male was fatality injured after a head-on collision on Westney Road North and Williamson Drive in the Town of Ajax on Saturday.

On June 27 at about 4:40 am, members of West Division were dispatched to the serious motor-vehicle collision. A white 2010 Mercedes Benz sustained extensive damage. The driver, a 20-year-old female was extricated from the vehicle and taken to local hospital. She sustained minor injuries and was released a short time later, said a police statement.

The second vehicle, a blue Mazda 3 sedan also sustained extensive damage. The 26-year old driver of the Mazda along with four other passengers were all extricated from the vehicle by emergency services. The driver had no vital signs and despite the best efforts of EMS, he was pronounced dead shortly after, it said.

The four passengers from the Mazda, all males in their 20’s were seriously injured and rushed to Toronto based trauma centers. One is currently listed in critical condition, the other three are listed in serious but stable condition.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
