Arsonist on the loose after torching car outside Ajax home

Durham police are appealing for witnesses after an arson in Ajax early Tuesday morning.

On September 30 at about 4:50 am, members from West Division responded to a vehicle fire in the area of Smith Lane and Abbs Court. Officers arrived on scene and located a motor vehicle with extensive damage caused from a fire outside of a residence.

There were no physical injuries reported. Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with video footage, including dash cam or home surveillance, to contact investigators.
