Three separate drivers were stopped for traffic violations in the last few days.
Early in the hours of Saturday November 22, another vehicle was caught driving 144kmh in an 80kmh zone by DRPS. The G2 driver said they were racing to help a friend change tires.
The car was impounded and towed away at the scene.
Impaired Ignores Red Light
At 12:09 am on November 19 at Highway 401 westbound at Bennett Road in Clarington, Whitby OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) stopped a 48-year old man from Clarington for stunt driving, failing to stop at a stop sign and a red light.
When pulled over, police administered a breathalyzer test and found that the subject had 34 mgs of alcohol in his system. The legal limit in Ontario is 0.08 blood alcohol content.
The driver was issued a 14-day vehicle impound and 30-day license suspension.

165kmh On Highway 401
On Friday night a driver was stopped by DRPS on Highway 401 because they were driving in 65kmh excess of the posted speed limit. The speed limit is 100kmh.
The driver was also weaving through traffic, disregarding the safety of the other drivers around them, DRPS said.
Oshawa, Pickering Collisions
Yesterday Durham Regional Police Service announced a road closure at Oshawa-Wentworth Street West, which was closed east of Cedar Street.
On November 22, there was a road closure in Pickering. Finch Avenue was closed on eastbound lanes at Whites Road for a motor vehicle collision investigation.
And, on November 21, police announced Oshawa road closures on Glen Street from Oxford Street to Porter Street for an accident investigation.
