CIBC bank branch in Oshawa robbed again?

Another robbery has taken place at CIBC in Oshawa, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS)

“Robbery Unit are currently investigating a bank robbery at a CIBC branch on Simcoe St in Oshawa. No phyisical injuries. Suspect info will follow once investigators gather evidence at the scene,”said a brief tweet from DRPS.

Last October, a robbery took place at the bank in which the robber fled with the loot on foot. However,he was caught within days.

This time also, the lone suspect entered the bank, passed a note to the teller and fled the bank on foot with a quantity of cash. Robbery Unit is now investigating, police said.

On Monday, January 20, at approximately 4 pm, members of Central East Division responded to the CIBC bank on Simcoe Street South in Oshawa for a robbery. Officers searched the area with negative results.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as male, white, in his mid-50s, shoulder length brown hair. He was wearing a brown winter coat with an X logo on the back.
