A male is facing numerous charges after he assaulted and forcibly confined a victim before fleeing from police in Oshawa.
The suspect reportedly assaulted and forced the victim into a vehicle before fleeing the area. Officers located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, however the vehicle fled from police, striking another vehicle. After a brief pursuit, officers made intentional contact with the suspect vehicle, successfully bringing it to a stop. The suspect was taken into custody.
The incident took place on Tuesday, January 27, at around 12:10 pm, when members of Central East Division responded to a disturbance call in the area of Wentworth Street West and Oxford Street.
The victim suffered minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the vehicle involved in the collision with the suspect vehicle suffered minor injuries, police said.
The suspect was wanted on outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
