Community of 62 homes planned in Clarington

The Municipality of Clarington has announced a development proposal for 62 homes in Courtice which will includes amenities such as a park.

The project is not yet approved and will be coming to the Planning and Development Committee on February 9. Public feedback is invited.

The proposed development is located at 1350 Courtice Road in Courtice. The total site area is 6.28 hectares, said a municipal announcement.

It said GHD has submitted applications on behalf of Brookfield Residential (Ontario) Limited for an Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision at the site.

“The proposal seeks to facilitate the development of 18 street townhouses and 44 single-detached residential units, a medium-density block, a neighbourhood park block, an environmental protection block, and local and collector roads,” the statement said.

The public meeting will be held online or in person on February 9 at 6:30 pm in Council Chambers, Municipal Administrative Centre, 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville.
