Woman pedestrian hit on Thursday in Ajax dies

The 57-year-old female that was struck by a pick-up truck in Ajax has succumbed to her injuries, Durham police said.

This will be the sixth pedestrian reported to have been hit in the past three months (see below).

On Thursday, January 22 around 11:05 am, members of West Division responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Kingston Road West and Ritchie Avenue.

A 57-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck while crossing the roadway on the west side of the intersection. The female was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center where she remained in life-threatening condition. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
