A Durham male is facing charges after importing conducted energy weapons (tasers) in Oshawa.
On Wednesday, January 28, investigators from the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch completed an investigation into a male believed to have imported prohibited conducted energy weapons (tasers) into Canada.
Investigators, with the assistance of the East Division Crime Team, and Central East Division Community Response Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Ritson Road South and Olive Avenue. The suspect was located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident. Two tasers disguised as flashlights were located and seized.
The male suspect, aged 49, from Oshawa was released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca
