Wilson Bridge replacement works extended until May

The City of Pickering has announced that works on the replacement of Wilson Bridge have now been extended from December 2025 to May 31.

It also announced road closures. Seventh Concession Road will be temporarily closed, from Sideline 28 to Sideline 32, as well as North Road from Seventh Concession Road to Highway 7 to facilitate the replacement of Wilson Bridge, west of North Road, said a city statement.

It said local access will be provided outside of the construction zone.

The city’s contractor, Esposito Bros. Construction (Tender No. T2025-2), will undertake the replacement of Wilson Bridge on Seventh Concession Road, between Sideline 28 and Sideline 32.

The work includes removal and replacement of the existing bridge structure, road approach work and asphalt paving, installation of new guiderails, drainage improvements, and restoration to all areas affected by the construction.

Applicable detour signage will be in place to direct traffic.
