Durham Police are looking for a male who is reported to have sexually assaulted a female on a Durham Transit bus.
On Thursday, September 12 at about 4:45 pm, a female exited Durham College and boarded a Durham Transit bus that was parked in the Oshawa campus bus loop. A male also exited the college and boarded the bus. The suspect sat beside the female and attempted to engage her in conversation. As the victim was exiting her seat at her stop, the suspect groped her. The victim was able to safely exit the bus before contacting police, said a police report.
The suspect is described as: male, Brown, 20-30 years-old, approximately 5’8” tall, with a medium build, black beard and black turban. He was wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans, and had a black backpack.

If you are sexually assaulted or you witness someone being sexually assaulted on public transit, call police immediately. Victims are also advised to draw attention to the incident, inform the bus driver, and make note of the bus number and suspect’s description.
