The Regional Municipality of Durham has awarded the contract for the construction of a new noise barrier wall in Ajax.
It will be built on Westney Road, north and south of Kingston Road West, according to an announcement by the Town.
The Region’s contractor, Peninsula Construction Inc., will start work the week of February 24, and is expected to complete the noise barrier wall installation by April 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Lane Restrictions
Westney Road will have lane restrictions of one southbound lane where the noise barrier walls are being installed:
- From the intersection of Kingston Road West to about 250 metres south of the intersection
- From 100 metres south of Millington to Hettersley Drive
The Region said it realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
