Bear + cub moving northeast; do not approach: police

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said the black bear and cub are still in Courtice area and warned residents not to approach them.

Black bear and cub seen in the area of Nash and Trulls southeast corner in Courtice,” said a DRPS tweet late yesterday evening.

“Residents are urged to use caution and do not approach,” it added.

On Sunday, the mama bear and cub were reportedly seen in the area of Prestonvale Road and Meadowglade Road. heading in a southeast direction.

Resident’s in Clarington area are reminded to use caution if they come across a bear. Please keep a safe distance and contact: @DRPS at 1-888-579-1520 @ONresources at 1-866-514-2327.
