Bikes, bikes and more for Toy Drive

‘Tis the season of giving and once again OPG – Darlington Nuclear staff members have created a toy mountain, donating a massive amount of items, including 55 bicycles and helmets, electronics and, of course, lots of toys and food.

For 20 years OPG employees have supported thousands of families in all corners of the region by generously contributing to DRP’S’ Food and Toy Drive, said a police statement.

“The donation was so large we had to call in help from our friends at Durham Region Transit. They provided us with a bus to help take the bikes and other donations right to agencies in need,” the statement said.

Interim Chief Todd Rollauer and Food & Toy Coordinator Cst. Daryl Rice accepted the donation and thanked OPG Darlington for this amazing donation. Many families throughout Durham Region are in need of support from organizations and charities and these donations are making this the best year yet for the Food and Toy Drive.
