Car crashes light pole during rains + live wires down

Oshawa Power yesterday reported that a vehicle crashed into a street light pole, but apparently no one was injured.

“Crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident causing a broken hydro pole this afternoon,” said a company tweet.

It did not mention if anyone was hurt in the collision, or where in Oshawa it happened.

“Rainy weather and slick roads can lead to dangerous driving conditions. Please continue to drive cautiously during inclement weather,” the tweet added.

No further details were made available.

However, Emergency Services can reach addresses south of 4818 from Raglan Road West, and address north of 4818 from Coates Road West, it added.

  • When: Effective immediately until further notice
  • Where: Between Raglan Rd W and Coates Rd W
  • Why: Power lines down at 4818 Thornton Rd N – no through access

The city apologized for any inconvenience this may cause or have caused.
