Carriage Cup Hockey tickets now on sale

On Jan 21st, two post secondary institute hockey teams, Carleton Ravens and Ontario Tech Ridgebacks will face off in the Carriage Cup. This is the fourth edition of the annual showdown.

Created through a collaboration with the Ontario Tech Student Union (OTSU), the Carriage Cup pays homage to the innovative and entrepreneurial history of automobile manufacturing in Oshawa. The event has become a signature celebration for the Ontario Tech community, drawing more than 1,700 fans in previous years. This year’s edition is shaping up to be the biggest yet.

“The Carriage Cup is a game our players look forward to every season, and we’re excited to face Carleton in this year’s matchup,” said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. “Hearing the Ontario Tech community behind us in the Tribute Communities Centre creates an atmosphere that you don’t forget.”

“We’ve seen how much Carriage Cup means to our students, alumni and the wider Ontario Tech community,” said Ridgebacks athletic director Audra Sherman. “We’re building on that support to make our fourth edition the biggest yet. It’s an opportunity to bring people together, celebrate our student-athletes and fill the Tribute Communities Centre with Ridgebacks pride.”

All proceeds from the game will support Ontario Tech’s Adopt-a-Ridgeback program, enhancing the experience of student-athletes across all Ridgebacks varsity teams. With student-athletes dedicating an average of 60 to 70 hours per week to school and sport, the program helps ease financial pressures so they can focus on succeeding in the classroom, in competition and in the community.

Tickets for the 2027 Carriage Cup men’s hockey game are now available at the Tribute Communities Centre website.

Since joining Ontario University Athletics in 2006, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks have built a proud tradition of developing champions in sport, in the classroom, and in life.

Each year, Ontario Tech celebrates more than 70 academic award winners, with Ridgebacks student-athletes maintaining an average GPA above 3.0. That balance of academic and athletic achievement reflects what defines the Ridgebacks spirit. Quality people, strong habits, and a shared purpose to perform under pressure and lead with character.
